The Story of Henry
Henry woke up. Where was he? Nowhere familiar that was for sure.
It seemed to be some sort of viewing lounge, like the sort that you get at airports for people who want to sit and watch planes land and take off all day.
But why was he here? He couldn’t remember ever wanting to sit around watching planes. He never had the time for a start. He was a very busy man what with his family and friends and, more recently, the business.
He could see something going on through the window. He leaned forward to watch more closely. It was his wife. And his children. Not her children – it was his second marriage. Rosie had come along and swept him off his feet about 5 years ago. He would do anything for her. And it was great that she got on so well with Greg and Katie, his 2 grown up children.
But it looked like they were arguing. Rosie was looking upset, distraught in fact. And Greg was getting angrier by the minute. He wished he could hear what was going on. Suddenly he noticed what looked like an intercom button on the ledge in front of him. He pushed it and Greg’s voice came through loud and clear.
“I’m sorry Rosie but the house is ours. We can give you a couple of weeks to get your things together and get out, but, you know, if Dad had wanted to leave you anything, he would have made a Will”.
