Wayne Cartlidge

Legal Assistant, Property Team

Wayne Cartlidge is a Legal Assistant in the Property Team under the supervision of company director and Head of Property, David Williams.

He started working for Onions & Davies Limited in November 2023. He is presently a student at Staffordshire University, beginning his studies at Staffordshire University in 2020, and has recently been awarded a Bachelor of Law degree.  He has continued his studies and has recently started back at Staffordshire University, studying a joint Master of Law degree and Legal Practice Course (LLM/LPC).

Prior to his current studies, Wayne served in the British Army for over 10 years. He then worked for an IT company in 2008, where he worked as an HR administrator with an external law firm that specialised in Immigration law to ensure that the company could bring in staff from across the world. This then led to working for Law firms, and Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) regulated companies, whose speciality was Immigration law, working for both private and corporate clients and where I held Level 1 OISC accreditation. 

After living in other areas in the UK, Wayne moved back to Staffordshire, where he decided to return to University in order to open his career opportunities in other areas of law. Working for Onions & Davies in the property department has allowed him to gain excellent experience, and also to gain valuable knowledge from David Williams.

After leaving the British Army in 2007, it has been a long, sometimes tiring struggle with injury and illness, having numerous operations and procedures, whilst also being diagnosed with complex PTSD. However, receiving much needed help and intervention by military charities has helped Wayne through what have been some tough periods in his life.  Wayne says it has become clear that the work that military charities do, and with assistance from companies such as Onions & Davies Ltd, who hold the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, that the support is there for military veterans.

Wayne has, in the past, assisted in fundraising efforts, such as national store collection events, and he has also taken part in cycling events, such as London to Paris and the Ride London 100 mile event. He has teamed up with an Armed Forces Covenant registered company and a military charity, taking part in a 12-hour team event cycling around the famous Brands Hatch circuit. Wayne is passionate about assisting these charities and encouraging other companies across the UK to join Onions & Davies Ltd in supporting serving military personnel, military veterans, and their families through the Armed Forces Covenant.
